Wētā Workshop, the New Zealand-based special effects and props company that worked on Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, is back to working its magic with a brand new Lord of the Rings video game heading our way.
Titled Tales of the Shire, this new game is set to be a cosy and heartwarming take on the Lord of the Rings franchise, which will let players live their best Hobbit life without a battle to be seen.

The teaser trailer released for the game shows a Hobbit painting in a journal and humming a little tune, setting the tone for the experience that awaits players when the game releases on PC and console sometime in 2024.
Outside of the announcement and trailer, very little information is available. Still, many on the internet have started to make comparisons to Stardew Valley – which seems like the exact type of vibe Wētā Workshop was going for.
Now we want to hear from you. Are you excited to finally get to live your best hobbit life? Tending to your vegetables and enjoying second and third breakfast? Let us know in the comments.
