One of the most exhilarating racing sports out there has got to be Rally — blistering speeds, sharp corners, dirt roads and cars that fly. So when NAG got invited to attend the preview for the new EA Sports WRC launching on November 3, I got excited.
The new EA Sports WRC game looks like it’s going to be insanely epic with the amount of effort the team has put into the handling systems, vehicles and locations.
The new game will feature over 70 vehicles and 18 locations to race them in. Ten of the vehicles will be from the official World Rally Championships leagues from WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC. There will be 68 other vehicles in the game that span the history of rally, from more modern vehicles all the way back to the 1960s.
The game releases with 17 of the locations as standard, while the 18th will be released soon after for no extra charge. Each location features various stages that contain real-world roads that have been used over the course of the World Rally Championship. With around 35km for each location, there are over 600 km of track to race your heart out to, the most amount of track in any WRC game ever.

Roads also feature a dynamic degradation system, meaning if you start further down the pack, then you will feel the ripped-up roads beneath your tyres as the other racers have already passed through.
The Dynamic Handling System has been developed by the EA handling team, of which Jon Armstrong, an ERC3 racer, is a part. This means the vehicles will handle as close to real-world as possible.
All in all, EA Sport WRC for 2023 is shaping up to be one hell of a ride. Keep your eyes peeled on NAG for more details, and perhaps we’ll get our very own Len Nery to give the game a spin in his fancy simulator.
