While it’s quite obvious that the performance on a Nintendo Switch will never equal that of a PS5 or Xbox One, it doesn’t justify terrible ports of games to the Switch console.
The Switch port for Mortal Kombat 1 is horrendous, to say the least, from major graphical discrepancies to missing content that can be found in the other versions of the game, but Ed Boon, long-time Mortal Kombat boss, says that everything will be addressed.
In an interview with the BBC, Boon said that the Switch version of Mortal Kombat is not “ideal”, but “anything that we’re finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed.”.

While there is no timeline of when the game will be receiving this promised “update”, Boon was also quite clear that the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 will still receive all the same support as the other versions of the game. DLCs, more characters, updated seasons, these will all feature on the Nintendo Switch, just like NetherRealm supported Mortal Kombat 11.
