Thanks to the ongoing FTC debacle, this week has seen one of the most significant leaks in Microsoft’s history. Yesterday, we covered that Microsoft has plans for a PC cloud gaming and a new Xbox console and controller. Now, more leaked documents have revealed Bethesda’s entire development and release schedule.
The leaked document in question is from 2020, so it’s likely that much of this information might have changed or no longer been entirely accurate; however, if we do believe it, then fans have remasters of both The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion and Fallout 3 to look forward to.
Both games are still really well-loved, and while the release schedule that leaked has Oblivion set for a 2022 release window and Fallout 3 for 2024, it’s worth remembering that at this time, Starfield was set to release in 2021, so just because an Oblivion remaster hasn’t been released yet, it doesn’t mean that it won’t.
The document in question was from a July 2020 Microsoft presentation about the then-potential ZeniMax acquisition, and the games in the presentation included:
- Oblivion remaster (initially set for fiscal year 2022)
- Doom Year Zero and DLC (fiscal year 2023) and a second set of DLC (fiscal year 2024)
- The Fallout 3 remaster (fiscal year 2024)
- A sequel to Ghostwire: Tokyo (fiscal year 2024)
- Dishonored 3 (fiscal year 2024)

As we said, there is always a chance that plans have changed since this presentation; however, if they are still in the pipeline, it gives us a great look at what we can expect and look forward to from Microsoft in the future.
But now we want to know if you would be excited about these remasters. Let us know in the comments.
