Rainbow Cotton Is Making A Comeback Two Decades Later

A cult classic game from the era of the SEGA Dreamcast is staging a comeback. And yes, you did read that right. Rainbow Cotton is a game that was first released back in January of 200 in Japan to massive success.

Gamers loved its classic arcade feel, whimsical characters and 3D shoot ”em-up mechanics. However, despite being so beloved, the game never reached a Western audience – until now.

ININ Games announced it will release a remastered version of Rainbow Cotton for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam sometime in 2024.

However, this is more than just a straight port. The remastered edition will include several new features the original game never had, including improved controls, a dedicated reto mode and full localization, including anime cutscenes.

The game will also include improved particle effects, ambient occlusion and other tweaks to have the game looking all new and shiny.

But now we want to know from you: Are you excited to see some classic games make a return on modern consoles? Let us know in the comments.
