PUBG: Battlegrounds, New Tease Smells Like Chicken

PUBG is still one of the most-played battle royale games out there. With constant updates to both the mobile and PC platforms and a host of collaborations over the years, the franchise has maintained an active player and fan base.

The popular catchphrase; “Winner winner, chicken dinner”, that has become synonymous with the game, has hatched up quite a few collaborations between PUBG and KFC, and it seems like another may be in the works.

A teaser posted on the PUBG Xitter (or whatever we call it now) page shows a petrol station undergoing construction with the phrase “Coming Soon 10.2023” at the top.

However, under a microscope, we start to see a few chicken-related images pop up on the image. First off, the Price Board of the petrol station has a “XXX Landing in Erangel” poster stuck to it, and we can just make out that the first three letters could be KFC. The caution sign on the right of the image also features a hearty bucket of chicken, which couldn’t be more obvious, let’s be honest.

Players have been asking for the petrol stations on the Erangel map to become functioning buildings for a while now since they work on other maps. To me, the image seems to be saying that instead of a working petrol station, players are going to be receiving a host of takeaway chicken stores, and if they have enough gas in the tank, maybe they can swing by for a quick drive-through bucket.

Whether you get your chicken dinner by becoming a winner or through the window of an abandoned building, I guess we’ll just have to wait for October to really find out.
