After fans had their pallets wet by the last Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, there has been a renewed interest in an Indiana Jones game first announced back in 2021 before falling into obscurity – until now.
Being developed by MachineGames alongside publisher Bethesda, the upcoming Indiana Jones game based on the iconic IP has been shrouded in mystery since being announced without an update to be seen.
In a recent interview, Xbox head Todd Howard revealed that the game is roughly midway through development.
Todd Howard also expressed his excitement to share more about the project soon. He also stated that MachineGames is doing a “great job” with the IP.
Midway through means, it will likely take another year or so before fans can dive into the game for themselves. However, we can still hype ourselves up by picking apart all the limited information we have for the upcoming title.

Aside from the short teaser trailer, MachineGames has yet to announce any other information about the game but come on, it’s Indiana Jones, which means players will undoubtedly be in for an adventure full of heroic moments and archological sites.
We can also piece together the clues from the teaser trailer to make some presumptions about the game’s direction. The teaser showed a map of the Vatican City and writing that says: I will be arriving in Rome. So, it’s safe to assume Italy will be the destination of the upcoming title.
There is also the fact that in the teaser, Indiana Jones’s plane ticket is dated 1937, meaning the game is likely set a year after the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark and will see a setting where Europe is teetering on the brink of the Second World War.
Finally, the books in the teaser have titles like Ancient Circles, Forbidden Stones and Myths that Made Us, so it’s safe to presume that in typical Indiana Jones fashion, the game will feature its fair share of ancient artefacts with supernatural powers.
Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has revealed that even though the game was initially planned to be a multi-platform title, the company’s successful acquisition of Bethesda means that the upcoming Indiana Jones game will only be available on Xbox and PC.
