With the first and only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 on the horizon, CD Projekt Red has taken the opportunity to almost completely rework the game – so much so that it might be worthwhile starting a new character to experience it all.
Update 2.0. sees skill trees reworked, new armour systems, and overhalled police AI – among other, more minor, changes.
In a teaser for the upcoming expansion released last night at Gamescom, we get to see some of the changes in action, with perhaps the most impressive being the new skill trees that come with new perks to complement players’ playstyles.
It’s also worth noting that these new perks are part of the Cyberpunk 2077 overhaul and separate from the new Relic abilities that will be rolled out to Phantom Liberty owners.
Update 2.0 also brings car combat for the first time, which means aV can now use guns while driving, hack other cars, and even drive cars outfitted with guns.
The police AI will now also give chase, try to ram V off the road and set up roadblocks.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty comes out on the 26th of September, and the update will roll out simultaneously.
