As a table-top player of Age of Sigmar, when I saw that Realms of Ruin, the first digital game to be released in the Age of Sigmar galaxy, was being released, I got quite excited. Now, GameSpot has managed to get a couple of minutes of gameplay from the first mission in the game during the Gamescom expo.
Realms of Ruin is a real-time strategy game that has both a campaign and a conquest mode. The campaign will allow players to follow a story from the perspectives of the righteous Stormcast or through the beastly Orruks. The deathly Nighthaunt also feature, as can be seen in the gameplay clip, but the fourth faction to be released in the game still remains a secret.
The clip features a cutscene from one of the early missions and some gameplay through the mission. Don’t hit the play button if you’re hoping for a spoiler-free experience.
Conquest mode will allow players to take on battles in order to dominate the lands in both solo and online play.
I’ve been hankering for a good RTS to come out for a while now, and to have one being made in a galaxy I already enjoy has re-ignited my need to carry on painting through the fifty million Stormcast models I have stored in a box, on a shelf in a dark, damp cupboard.
You can pre-order Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin through Steam or Epic or on your Xbox or PlayStation consoles. The game is set for launch on the 17th of November 2023.
