Razer Just Released A Hot-Swappable Mechanical Keyboard To Let Users Mix And Match Switches

Those who love mechanical keyboards and get excited about custom keycaps and switches have reason to get excited about Razer’s new keyboard, the BlackWidow V4 75%.

The BlackWidow V4 75% is Razer’s first entry into hot-swappable mechanical keyboards that will allow users to change their keycaps at will and the switches – all without having to dismantle the keyboard or do any de-soldering.

The keyboard can accommodate any mechanical 3 or 5-pin switches, not just ones produced by Razer and is a smaller version of the previously released BlackWidow V4 Pro – only with the addition of being able to hot-swap its preloaded orange switches to ones of your choice.

Aside from the hot-swappable switches, the BlackWidow V4 75% also comes with the same bells and whistles as the BlackWidow V4 Pro. The keyboard has an 8000Hz polling rate, full RGB, and media keys.

The 75% in the name refers to the keyboard form factor – and in simple English, that means that the ten-key Numpad many are used to having on the right of the keyboard is cut off, making for a smaller keyboard overall.

The BlackWidow V4 75% is available in black and white models, with the black version retailing for $189.99 or R3,603. And the white version will retail for $199.99 or R3,793.
