If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the chance to get your hands on Hyenas, the upcoming team-based shooter from Creative Assembly, then you’re in luck because a closed beta is coming to Steam at the end of this month.
For those who might not already be familiar, Hyenas pits five teams of three players against each other in a quest to scavage Earth for the benefit of the wealthy who have retreated to Mars.
Players will be on the search for nostalgic reminders of better times like Sonic the Hedgehog toys and Mega Drive cartridges.
Until now, Hyenas hasn’t made a strong impression and has had trouble gaining traction. Sega even described the game as challenging and stated it was striving to improve its quality ahead of the game’s release.
One of the core reasons Hyenas has not gained much momentum is that no one has gotten a proper look at the game since it was first announced – something that will soon change – for better or worse.
If you’d like to try your hand at Hyenas, all you need to do is head on over to the game on Steam and click the request access button. Access to the beta isn’t guaranteed. Sega hasn’t said many players will be granted access, but they say that all PC players are invited to join, so you stand a good chance of getting to play.
The closed beta will begin on the 31st of August and run until the 11th of September.
