Fans of Vampire Survivors who are looking for something to play, get your hands warmed up because we’ve got something for you.
Disfigure is a top-down, rogue-lite shooter, so nothing spectacularly new there, but what they do have going for them is an interesting play on fog of war. Players don’t get to see all of the screen, so planning your movement becomes a little more difficult than in other similar games.
Being a rogue-lite means upgrades are definitely the way you’re going to be able to look deeper into the darkness and hopefully get as far into the game as possible. Upgrades include shooting out waves of light so you get a glimpse of where enemies could be, as well as things like a simple flashlight-like ability.
The game also lets you choose between using the abilities in a cone in front of you or, at the cost of ability range, a bubble around you.
With ten weapon choices, 100 upgrades and 90 different perks to choose from, your builds could go almost anywhere, which makes these arcade-style shooters even more exciting. Every 20-minute run could be completely different from the last.
The game is free on Steam, but the developers do have a R52 donation DLC if you enjoy the game enough to offer them some support.
