Lenovo Reportedly Working on A Handheld PC

Late last night an exclusive report on Windows Central went live saying that sources close to Lenovo confirmed the company is gearing up to enter the handheld PC market.

Dubbed Legion Go, Lenovo’s handheld will enter this new market segment and pit it out against the Steam Deck, ROG Ally and Ayaneo gaming devices, to name a few.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Lenovo was rumoured to be eyeing the handheld industry, in 2021 plans for the Lenovo Legion Play first leaked online, but the company shut the project down. Now it seems that Lenovo has resurrected the project.

The Legion Play, featured in the images in this post, was set to be an Android-based cloud gaming handheld similar to the more recently released Logitech G Cloud and Razer Edge.

While details are sparse at this point, the report states that the Legion Go will come with Windows 11 running on the new AMD Phoenix processors.

AMD Phoenix processors make sense for a handheld device as they are ultra-thin and focused on gaming, AI, and graphics with intended use on ultrabooks

It’s also rumoured that the Legion Go will boast an 8-inch screen, topping both the Asus ROG Ally and the Steam Deck which both come with 7-inch displays.
