Hasbro has just announced their new partnership with Italian company Xplored, the developers of Teburu, which is an attempt to gel the digital and physical world of board games, allowing players to focus on the game in front of them and letting Teburu handle the enemies, rules and story flow.
Teburu is a pretty cool mix of classic board games and modern technology, like RFID tags and customizable digital character pages, and promises seamless integration of the two worlds.

Why this is newsworthy? Because Hasbro makes some pretty popular board games, including Dungeons and Dragons.
Partnered with Xplored and their Teburu game system, this will allow Hasbro to create “innovative gameplay [for] our players and fans, limitless digital expansions [for] physical games, seamless onboarding, and powerful AI-driven game mechanics.” so says Hasbro VP Adam Biehl.
Of course, this partnership also means that there could be brand new board games on the horizon for us, not just related to Dungeons and Dragons, but completely new experiences that utilise this Teburu platform.
While only a few games from the Xplored team are available on Game Found, the future of board games could be just around the corner and I can’t wait to see what the exciting minds at all these tabletop studios can come up with.
