On the 2nd of August, Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone will arrive and alongside it a celebration of 50 years of hip-hop music.
Of course, this means new content for players to unlock and this time around that content consists of music tracks, a weapon blueprint, and operator bundles for artists Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage.
The celebration will also include free items for all players who participate, with Activio announcing that everyone will receive free hip pop War Tracks for logging in to Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone between August 7 and August 16.
Payers who log in during the first three days will get a hip-hop War Track from the ’80s, ’90s, or 2000s and logging in on day four will grant a special weapon blueprint.
Music isn’t the only thing included in this celebration. Alongside the six standard operators, there will also be three music artists for players to play as, namely Snoop Dogg, who was previously seen in Vanguard and Call of Duty: Mobile, Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage.
Snoop Dogg also broke ground as one of the first celebrity voice packs for multiplayer in Call of Duty: Ghosts. As of writing no further details about the event is available and players will likely need to wait until closer to the launch to learn more.
