If you’ve ever wanted to play a romancing, sea-fairing, 1500s, trader, explorer simulator, with beautifully styled RPG graphics, Sailing Era is probably what you’re looking for, and it’s getting released on PS5 and PS4 today.
The game story spans over 200 years of ship sailing adventure, where you will pick from 4 different characters, each with their own tales to tell. The game is seemingly open world and will allow you to travel from destination to destination, seeking out treasure, better trade options or any other adventure that awaits; even a little bit of light romance at a foreign tavern.
Pirate battles will, of course, be something you’ll need to tackle, from boat to boat, cannon action to boarded battles where your formed crew will need to fend off the enemies to survive.
Trade prices will also fluctuate over time, so a well-balanced and carefully thought out trip through the wild and wavering seas will be essential. You’ll need to manage your supplies and your crew to make sure they don’t toss you into the ocean before you reach your next destination.
