Apex Legends Reveals Major Ranked Changes

Apex Legends has revealed some rather significant changes coming to the game’s Ranked mode when the new season rolls out. Since 2019, the game has seen updates and new content included with each new season, and Season 18 will be no different.

When season 17 began, players started to argue that Ranked had become too easy, and the Maser’s rank had lost its lustre. This led to many taking to social media to call for the system to be rebalanced, and now it seems like those cries were heard.

Apex Legends Reveals Major Ranked Changes

Yesterday, Apex Legends announced the upcoming changes to Ranked that players can expect to see, and that will address many of the player complaints while making it more of a challenge to climb the competitive track.

The first significant change comes in how Ladder Points are awarded. Not only will the number of points awarded be nerfed, but greater Ladder Point penalties will be imposed for losses at Diamond Tier and higher.

Hopefully, these changes will reduce the number of players reaching Masters tear and help to even out the rankings.

There will also be modifications to matchmaking, and developers are trying to ensure that the most skilled players are consistently matched with players of the same skill level.

Considering everything, Ranked should see some significant rebalancing when Season 18 starts.
