Logitech Buys Loupedeck to add to it’s Content Creator Range of Products

If you’re a content creator you have without a doubt heard of the Elgato Stream Deck, it’s a versatile tool that has seemingly endless possibilities. Of course, you’ll look one up, see the price, shudder, and immediately Google “Stream Deck Alternatives”.

The Loupedeck will definitely pop up, and you’re guaranteed to fall in love with it, but you’ll quickly realise it’s not available in our local market and importing it means you might as well have just shelled out all your savings on the Stream Deck.

Well, Logitech has just bought them and I think this means good news for us South African content creators.

Acquiring Loupedeck goes hand in hand with Logitech’s other buy-outs which are more streamer focused. Streamlabs, the popular broadcasting software, and Blue-Yeti, the high-end microphone company along with the newly acquired Loupedeck, paint the image that Logitech is going deep with content creators.

The buyout also means that there will be an opportunity for the Loupedeck hardware to become locally available at a, hopefully, competitive price to the other hardware we can get, like the Stream Deck or the new Razer Stream Controller X, which, funnily enough, was developed with Loupedeck, to begin with.

I’m excited to see what comes of the Loupedeck from Logitech, fingers crossed it’s good things.
