Rumours Suggest That World of Warcraft Could Be Crossing Over With Fortnite. Yea, Baby!

There’s nothing like some leaks and a rumour to start the morning off with a bang. The latest of these juicy whispers in the wind is that a crossover between World of Warcraft and Fortnite is currently in development.

Now while Fortnite has made a name for itself by collaborating with everything from other games to popular media franchises, clothing brands, fast food, and more, World of Warcraft hasn’t dabbled much in crossovers before – despite still being one of the most popular and beloved MMORPGs in the world.

However, that being said, this year did see World of Warcraft collaborate with Diablo 4, but even though that was surprising, both games are Blizzard IPs, so it made sense.

If the rumours are to be believed, World of Warcraft will be spreading its crossover wings once more, only this time with Fortnite. This rumour took life when references to Epic’s battle royale appeared in WoW’s 10.1.7 PTR patch.

Popular World of Warcraft site Wowhead found a reference which consists of eight spells inspired by Fortnite, such as the Glug Jug that restores health when consumed.

The spell refers to Slurp Juice, one of Fortnite’s most famous items that restores players’ health when consumed. Another spell that stood out to Wowhead was The Storm, which deals nature damage to players who aren’t within its eye, a nod to Fortnite’s Storm Circle, one of the core gameplay mechanics of the Epic Games title.

As of writing, it’s still unclear if there will be a collaboration between the two popular franchises or even how such a collaboration would happen, but the evidence is compelling. It’s a rumour that’s hard to dismiss straight out of the gate.

What do you think about all this? Is there merit to a potential WoW VS Fortnite collab? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
