It seems all the post-launch work on Cyberpunk 2077 has paid off and the game has finally received a Very Positive user rating on Steam. This means that more than 80% of the game’s 553,000 user ratings are positive.
It’s a significant milestone for the game and CD Projekt Red, and it’s one that was publically acknowledged by CD Projekt Red’s global community director Marcin Momot on Twitter, where he thanked the fans for recognising all the hard work the team has put in over the years since the release.

It’s worth noting, though, that even when the game was at its worst, PC players had it pretty easy, especially those with a high-powered rig, even so, the game only recently managed to break past a mostly positive score.
As Marcin Momot said on Twitter, CD Projekt has stuck with Cyberpunk 2077, despite its worst days. That consistent work has seen the entire game make a turnaround.
Last year’s Edgerunners update, timed alongside the release of the highly-beloved Netflix show, started seeing many players give the game a second chance and be pleasantly surprised with the state of things after years of improvements and tweaks.

Another reason for the sudden review change on Steam is that Steam has recently started to exclude off-topic reviews as a way to combat review bombs, which means that several thousand negative reviews have now been determined to be off-topic by Valve and has seen the overall score for the game improved.
CD Projekt Red is currently hard at work on the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion that is set to drop on the 26th of September. If things continue as they have been, the upcoming expansion might be the final redemption that Cyberpunk 2077 needs in the eyes of gamers.
