Half-Life 2, but with Lego

Half-Life 2 was released almost 20 years ago and it was so good that it’s still able to make news today. Sadly, while it’s not any Half-Life 3 news, it is kind of new game news, you know, kind of.

One of the latest mods to hit Half-Life 2 on Steam Workshop is the Lego Mod by Not Dave or Daniel. The mod completely replaces all the characters in the game with our favourite plastic, round button-headed figures of joy, but only the characters. This means all the environments remain untouched and the fan-made announcement trailer below reveals just how ridiculous it is to have little Lego people running around City 17.

If you combine this mod with the third-person mod for Half-Life 2, you’re bound to get that classic Lego game experience, except for the fact that you’d be a short-legged Lego person inside the much bigger, much scarier world.

While I’m a little sad that it’s not a complete Lego overhaul of the game, I still feel this slight itch that might need to be scratched. I think downloading Half-Life 2 again and trying not to get my face sucked right off, is on the priority list for this week.
