Square Enix just recently held their 43rd Annual Shareholders Meeting and one of the shareholders had a question that might perk a few ears…
“Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster has been well received. Are there plans to remaster other past titles? Personally, I would like to play Xenogears.”
While the reply might not be as exciting, there is a small amount of hope for the old school Square Enix fans out there. Board members said that they would not be talking about any new releases coming out “but we are considering various ideas within the company and hope that you will look forward to forthcoming announcements.”
Pair this with the accidental slip from an interview in February between Ichiro Hazama and Finaland that “the Final Fantasy Tactics Team is incredibly busy at the moment” and that hope just gets a little bigger.
For now, fans will just have to hold on to this hope until we get more ‘accidental slips’ from some of the guys over at Square Enix.
