The team behind Friday the 13th: The Game, Gun Interactive, just announced via Twitter that players will receive several in-game bonuses and unlocks ahead of the multiplayer game getting delisted and its servers being shut down.
After years of legal struggles, Gun Interactive announced last month that Friday the 13th: The Game will officially be removed everywhere for sale on the 31st of December 2023, thanks to the existing licensing agreement finally expiring.
However, it is worth noting that even though the game will be removed from sale at the end of the year, the servers will stay online until sometime in 2024.
For those who don’t know, Friday the 13th: The Game is an online 4v1 survival game that was initially released in 2017, and the game is firmly based on the cult classic slasher movie franchise of the same name.
Players must team up to survive the night and take down the infamous Jason Vorhees. The game is pretty great, but thanks to a bitter lawsuit over the ownership of the Friday The 13th IP, many of the roadmap features and content never made it to the game.

In a surprising and welcomed move, Gun Interactive announced several in-game benefits would soon be rolled out to all players. Starting tomorrow, the 6th of July, all players will be boosted to level 150, the maximum cap for each player.
On top of this, players will also get access to all the kills from the base game, along with challenge skulls. Friday The 13th’s 30 legendary perks will also be unlocked for everyone and will no longer have any associated debuffs.
These changes are in place so that players can try and earn all remaining trophies and achievements without the grind before the game waves its final goodbye.
Gun Interactive is currently hard at work developing their next asymmetrical horror game, this tie based on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Set for an August release date already, one can only hope they have all their licencing agreements covered before getting players reinvested.
Friday the 13th: The Game is still available on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
