Pioner, a New First Person MMORPG, Releases Announcement Trailer

Pioner: Awakening has released an announcement trailer and it’s giving off strong Stalker meets Borderlands vibes.

It is set to be a first-person MMORPG that can be played solely PvE as a solo player, or together with friends and will also have PvP areas and events, similar to that of The Division. These PvP areas will contain better loot from drops but also from other players.

The game boasts five main settlements, over 50 handcrafted quests (as well as hundreds of smaller side quests), 7 different in-game factions and over 180 unique characters to interact with. The world seems to have a post-apocalyptic feel with the addition of some sort of force that could either be alien or a man-made mistake.

Although we don’t get shown in the trailer, our mysterious host does mention that we have ‘abilities’. We’re not sure if this will be a general ability system that everyone has access to or if there will be a class-based system, as the game does hint at different kinds of playstyles; “Play as a mercenary, a bandit, a caravan guard, an explorer, or a pioneer – the range of roles is extremely extensive and will help you become a full participant…”All we can tell for now is that something in the centre of the world is causing all these chaotic events and it’s up to you, and maybe some of your buddies, to figure it out.

There’s no release date set for Pioner Awakening just yet, but the website does have Xbox, PC and PlayStation logos, meaning it should be coming out on those platforms.
