The cult classic horror game Scorn, formally exclusive to PC and Xbox, is now heading to the PlayStation 5. The game is instantly recognisable with its post-apocalyptic biopunk setting and art direction inspired by H.R. Giger and Zdzislaw Beksinski.
Scorn was initially released exclusively on Microsoft platforms in 2022 to a mixed reception. While the game was praised for its presentation and puzzle-solving, many found its combat to be immersion-breaking and borning, but that might change now that the game is heading to an entirely new audience.
Late last night, the official PlayStation YouTube channel released a new trailer for Scorn, confirming that the game would be coming to PlayStation 5 a year after its original release date.
Towards the end of the trailer, viewers are also treated to a sneak peek at the upcoming physical Deluxe Edition of the game, which consists of a copy of Scorn, a steel book case, a digital artbook, and a copy of the game’s orchestral soundtrack.
It remains to be seen if the game heading to PlayStation will be enough to change its critical consensus, especially as the PlayStation 5 version won’t have access to the multiple mods players have been using to improve the game experience.
