Baldur’s Gate 3 Getting More Playable Races And Class Options

The highly-anticipated RPG game Baldur’s Gate 3 has revealed several new character options that will be included in the game’s upcoming release. The reveal showed that when the game releases, there will be two extra races, a new class, and many new subclasses for Baldur’s Gate 3 players to choose from at launch.

This information comes from a recent Community Update where Larian Studios, the developers behind the game, revealed a bunch of new information about it. The update’s highlight was that the PC release date had been moved by nearly a month, a welcome change from the usual game-delayed announcement.

The rest of the Community Update focused on the new character creation options like Half-Orcs and Dragonborn, which means that when the game releases, players will officially be able to choose from every single character option that was included in the original Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Player’s Handbook.

Another big announcement was that the Monk class would be included and have abilities that Dungeons and Dragons fans would recognize, like Deflect Missiles and Martial Arts, only slightly adjusted to fit into the video game world. It was also revealed that each of Baldur’s Gate 3’s playable classes would receive at least one new subclass option, which means there will be over 46 subclasses available at launch.

The official release will also include 37 feats and over 600 spells and sub-spells, many of which were never available in the games Early Access. The game will also increase the maximum level cap from 10 to 12.

As of now, that’s all the information we have, but on the 7th of July, the game will host its final ‘Panel From Hell,” where players can expect to see even more of what awaits them when the game officially releases on the 3rd of August for PC and the 6th of Septemeber for PlayStation 5.

Are you as excited as we are to jump into the game on launch? Let us know in the comments.
