It’s an exciting morning for Among Us fans as it was announced that the same studio that animated Star Trek: Lower Decks would adapt Among Us into an animated TV Show for CBS.
Among Us has the potential to join an ever-growing list of game-to-TV adaptations that have been making a name for themselves among entirely new audiences.
I’m old enough to remember when the thought of a video game getting adapted was sufficient to send shivers down your spine, but thanks to The Last of Us, The Witcher and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, that is no longer the case.
As mentioned above, CBS is hard at work producing an animated based on the Among Us video game. The studio will work closely with the creators of the hit game at Innersloth to develop the series.
Only a few details have been revealed, but from what we know so far, the TV Show will follow the game’s central aspect. A crew member has been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone.
The Impostor must be found, or everyone will fall victim to its murderous designs. Owen Dennis, who created the Cartoon Network/Max series Infinity Train will be attached to the project as the executive producer.
