Nvidia Shares Official GeForce RTX 4060 Benchmarks

Last week we reported that a few benchmarks for the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 supposedly leaked and turned up on Geekbench 6. Now Nvidia has published official benchmark results of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card just a week before its 29 June launch.

The new Ada Lovelace-based graphics card is faster than its predecessor based on the Ampere architecture. It has even more significant advantages with its AI frame generation enabled.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060’s AD106 has notable improvements over the GA106 regarding ray tracing performance and Tensor compute throughput. Tensor can also be used for AI, advanced DLSS 3 upscaling, and AI image generation workloads.

In the benchmark, Nvidia demonstrated the GeForce RTX 4060 with DLSS 3 and image generation enabled in as many games as possible, showing rather dramatic performance boosts compared to the GeForce RTX 3060.

Currently, not all games support AI frame generation. Without that, the GeForce RTX 4060 is only 20% faster than its predecessor – which is still a pretty impressive boost, just not as great as with the AI frame generation running.

Another selling point of the GeForce RTX 4060 is the lower power consumption, which will be particularly handy when gaming through load shedding and having to use a power supply to do so.

From the 29th of June, most leading graphics card manufacturers like Asus, MIS and Gigabyte will start to release the GeForce RTX 4060 graphics cards.

The recommended price for the GeForce RTX 4060 is $299 or around R5,591. Still, as usual, this price will fluctuate and change depending on region, exchange rate and availability.
