Some of the first benchmarks for the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 have supposedly leaked. Spotted on two Geekbench 6 runs; the first run was the GPU Compute test using the Vulkan API, and the other used OpenCL.
If we trust these leaks, Nvidia’s new RTX 4060 runs up to 20% faster than the RTX 3060. Back in May, Nvidia revealed its plans for RTX 4060-class graphics cards and stated that the RTX 4060 8GB model would be available from the 29th of July.
Considering that the release date for this card is only about a week away, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising if these Geekbench tests and leaks were because of reviewers and similar early access testers, lending some merit to their validity.

Taking the test by face value, the RTX 4060 is about 12% faster than the RTX 3060. The tests are even better in Open CL, with the new Ada Lovelace card coming in at 20% faster.
It’s worth noting that if these leaks are genuine that they are based on a single sample, so the Geekbench average is almost sure to change when more cards run the same test.
Also, Geekbench scores have a reputation for not being all that accurate in gaming performance, so we’ll have to wait for more benchmarks to get a clear picture of the RTX 4060 performance.
We do know for sure that when the GeForce RTX 4060 releases next week, the specs will be as follows:
- GPU with 24 SMs, 3072 CUDA cores, and 24 MB of L2 cache.
- Memory subsystem with 8 GB of 17 Gbps GDDR6 memory, operating on a 128-bit wide bus for 272 (453 effective) GBps bandwidth.
The card is set to have a $299 price point or about R5,487 for those of us in South Africa. What do you think about the validity of these leaks, and more importantly, have you got your eyes set on the GeForce RTX 4060? Let us know in the comments.
