Nintendo Just Announced New Mario Games For The Nintendo Switch

After the roaring success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which brought in a staggering $1.3 billion at the global box office, Nintendo is more popular now than ever before. The company is taking full advantage of this momentum by announcing two brand new games set into the Mario universe for the Nintendo Switch.

The first of these games is Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which will be released on the 20th of October this year. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a bright, almost psychedelic platformer that screams reto with its 2D style.

The game features Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy as playable characters, traversing new worlds to fight off familiar enemies. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the game even introduces a new power-up: Elephant Mario.

The following big announcement was a yet-to-be-titled Princess Peach game where players would take on the role, of you guessed it, the most kidnapped princess in history, Princess Peach.

The game is a 2.5D side-scroller but other than that, Nintendo has yet to reveal anything more about the game. This will be the first time since 2005 that Princess Peach will headline a Nintendo game, and if Super Princess Peach is anything to go by, this new game will be an absolute blast.

For the cherry on the cake, Nintendo also announced that the 1996 classic Super Mario RPG would be coming to the Nintendo Switch on the 17th of November.

Super Mario RPG was the very first RPG game in the Mario franchise, and it’s now returning with fully refurbished graphics that still keep the charm of the original.

Which of these Mario games are you most excited to play? Let us know in the comments.
