Atlas Fallen is an upcoming open world action RPG from Focus Entertainment that promises fluid combat and so much sand.
The game reminds me quite a bit of Monster Hunter, as you will be exploring the sandy open world taking on monsters that get bigger and more epic. The difference between Atlas Fallen and the rest of the Open World Action games out there though, is going to be its combat.
Fighting is quick and fluid and you won’t be hindered by a stamina bar, meaning you can just keep swinging. However, there is a momentum bar which stacks up as you do ‘keep swinging’ and the higher this momentum bar gets the more damage you start to take. This momentum bar is also tied to your abilities, both passive and active, which you will be able to do only once you hit the required level on your momentum bar to perform the ability.
This adds in an interesting risk/reward mechanic that will ensure fights are always keeping you on your toes. If your toes start to cramp though, the game will have a seamless co-op experience, so your buddy can start tanking a bit of damage while you roll out your little piggies.
Check out the sneak-peak below of some of the co-op gameplay coming to Atlas Fallen, which is planned for release sometime this year.
