Treasure goblins have been and continue to be a staple in the Diablo universe. Still, this time, many players find them underwhelming instead of exciting and something to rush after actively – so much so that Diablo 4 players are now publicly pleading with Blizzard to take another look at the treasure goblin system.
The core reason for the disappointment is the treasure goblins seemingly running dry on treasures. As of writing, killing a treasure goblin gives roughly the same amount of gold as opening a resplendent chest.
Because of this glaring lack of riches, catching the little servant of greed feels like a slog instead of an enriching and thrilling part of the game.
Thankfully, during a Campfire Chat on the 16th of June, Blizzard revealed they would be listening closely to the Diablo 4 community and slowly making changes over the coming months to align the game to players’ expectations and hopefully further fill that goblin’s sack…
As with many of the current systems within Diablo 4, players love the idea of it; they just want Blizzard to polish up the execution and treasure goblins could very quickly turn out to be a fan-favourite once more if Blizzard just makes them more rewarding to chase down and kill.
What do you think about these greedy little goblins? Do you also wish their sacks were a little more full? Let us know in the comments.
