Steam is giving us six free games, just in time for the long weekend

Who doesn’t love a long weekend? And even better, a long weekend stacked with free games? Well, Steam has heard our cries, and they have six games available for download, for free, nix, nada, mahala, you get it.

Let’s get through the three that are actually demos first. The devs have called them prologues, and they give players a little taste of the game before the full release, later this year.

Demos

Bunker Builder [Steam]

Bunker Builder is a building sim where the player builds, well, a bunker. You get to build the whole thing from the ground down, starting with digging your own hole all the way to decking out the shelves with your favourite canned foods. If you love the prologue, the full game is set for a 2023 release, but we don’t have an exact date yet.

Grand Emprise: Time Travel Survival [Steam]

Grand Emprise is a Survival game similar to the likes of Rust and Ark. The twist is in Grand Emprise, you will have the ability to time travel. Work your way through the ages or grab tools from the future to help in the past; the choice is yours. I just can’t understand why we, as a human race, decided to stop building lightning-fast sand boats made of wood.

Death Roads: Tournament [Steam]

Death Roads is a death race rouge-lite where you take on other races in a turn-based, card game-style battle. Tune up your vehicle, build your deck and see how far you can get before the other races take you out.

Full Games

Street Sense 2 [Steam]

Street Sense 2 is a bit of an interesting one. I’d prefer to think of it as an interactive book on learning how to drive more than a game. It’s published by the ICBC, which is an insurance company that specialises in vehicular accidents, so I’d hope that they teach good lessons in their games. Or maybe they don’t, and it’s a conspiracy to get more people to pay for insurance because they keep crashing their cars…

Ashes to Ashes [Steam]

Ashes to Ashes mixes the wild west with revenge, magic, ghosts and a few skeletons. The game is a story-driven action shooter where the player, who takes on the role of Quinn del Ramo, is brought back from the dead to exact revenge on those that wronged them.

Their Land [Steam]

Their Land is a first-person action adventure with twists, puzzles and horror. You play as Jeremy, and along with a crew, you travel to a never-before-explored island that seems to have a reason as to why no one has ever come back to tell its story.

Will you be picking any of these up? Or are you up to something else this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
