Earlier this week, a special edition Xbox controller themed after the upcoming game Starfield was revealed, and it’s objectively one of the most visually striking Xbox controllers to date. Now it’s been revealed that the controller will also give owners a unique dynamic background as a bonus.
During the Xbox Games Showcase, Starfield took fans on an awe-inspiring deep dive into the game, where much of the game’s vast open world and gameplay features were shown off and explained. Also during this 45-minute presentation was the reveal of the game’s Constellation Edition and two Starfield-themed Xbox accessories in a new Xbox headset and controller.
One of the best features of the Xbox Series X/S consoles is the addition of animated dynamic backgrounds. Over the years, there have been backgrounds from games like Halo Infinite, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Redfall, and most recently, Diablo 4.

Over on Twitter, Tom Warren from The Verge shared a short video of a new dynamic background exclusive to Xbox consoles that will be unlocked for everyone who owns the new Starfield-themed Xbox controller.
Until now, all of the Xbox dynamic backgrounds have been free, so this Starfield background being tied to the controllers makes it the first time any of the backgrounds could be seen as exclusive.
What do you think about a background being bundled with the controller? Let us know in the comments.
