Say “The Starfield Direct was exactly what people were hoping for” without saying, “The Starfield Direct was exactly what people were hoping for”.
Well, as of writing this, it’s currently sitting number 4 on Steams Global Top Sellers List and it’s not even out yet.
The Global Top Sellers list is based on revenue, so in-game items and all the rest add to the sales, hence why CS:GO has been number one for the past 566 weeks, but it does show that people are excited for Starfield to be released.
The game even peaked at number 2, but then the new Cyberpunk DLC, which comes with a massive upgrade to the core game (read more on that here) and Nicolas Cage having his pants scared off in Dead by Daylight caught more people’s attention.
While I’m glad that Starfield is back in the good books of most people, it’s funny that it’s raking in so much money when it will be coming to Game Pass on day one. Maybe those five days of early access are really selling it; maybe it’s the added DLC. Either way, it seems like people still have a few bucks to spend on pre-ordering games.
Starfield will launch on the 6th of September on Xbox and Microsoft Windows, so you have a few months to make sure your Game Pass is topped up.
