It’s here, the release date for the latest Avatar game. Sorry Suzi, not the Airbender one the Pocahontas one.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is being released later this year, on the 7th of December and it looks just as good as the Way of Water movie does, and there’s a reason why. It turns out that the team behind Frontiers of Pandora teamed up with James Cameron to help develop the game engine so that the game would look as close to the movie as possible. This of course means that Frontiers of Pandora will be a “next-gen” release only. PS4 and XBOne, I’m sorry.
Another neat little tidbit – no spoilers, I promise – is that the game is set during the same timeline as the latest movie. In fact, it fills in the gaps that were purposefully left out from the silver screen version.
For those of you that have been curious as to what happened during that whole time skip, you’ll have to wait until December to find out.
In case you missed out on looking at the trailer during the Ubisoft Forward, I’ve done all the hard Googling work and grabbed it for you below. It gives me a strong sense of the later Farcry games, perhaps mixed with a little bit of Horizon.
