Microsoft hosted one of the best and most announcement-filled Xbox Games Showcases in recent memory. To cap it all off, Microsoft casually dropped a brand-new Xbox Series S console.
Last night’s Xbox Games Showcase was filled to the brim with game reveals, announcements and plans for the future of Xbox and the reveal of a new Xbox Series S console.
This new Xbox Series S console comes in a sleek Carbon Black with a matching controller, but the most significant selling point is that this console comes with expanded internal storage.
As Xbox owners already know, the original Xbox Series S console came with only 500 GB of internal storage, something the new Xbox Series S Carbon Black console ups to 1 TB of storage.
However, this upgrade also comes with an increased price from $299.99 (R5,593) for the original to $349.99 (R6,525) for this new model.
The Xbox Series S Carbon Black console will be released on the 1st of September this year. Besides the increased storage and sleek new colour, it has no other power advantage over the currently available Xbox Series S console.
It’s also worth noting that the Xbox Series S Carbon Black console is digital-only, so tying it with Xbox Game Pass only makes sense and is a great way to play the latest Xbox titles without the need for a disc-drive
