Summer Games Fest revealed a whole lot of juicy goodness for us to lap up last night, and you can call my tongue tired because I’ve been lapping.
While not many of the trailers that were revealed were for anything brand new, all of it was exciting content and I can’t wait to get my hands on all of it to give it a try. Except for Alan Wake 2, sweet holy moly, I will poo myself if I get behind the screen playing that game. We’ll have to call in the big guns, Arielle, to take that one on.
Of course, a 4-hour show is a lot to sit through, so I’ve gone and picked the three games that I’m most excited for that were shown at the Summer Games Fest.
Throne & Liberty
Throne Liberty is an open world MMORPG developed by NCSoft, partnered with Amazon. It promises both PvP and PvE gameplay as well as “evolving battlefields” that will change depending on the time of day, the weather and even things that players have done in-game.
Lies of P
Lies of P takes the classic tale of Pinnochio and Black Mirrors the heck out of it. Round8, the developers, have created an epic looking souls-like where you take on the role of Pinnochio in a world riddled with monsters and lies. The game seems to be set in an 1800s French-era timeline mixed with a little bit of steampunk.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Banishers is an action-RPG with an interesting twist. You take on the role of two characters that live in different realms of the same world, the realm of the living and the realm of the dead. It seems like you have the ability to instantaneously switch between these two realms to form combos or weaken enemies as you’re busy attacking them, which is what really drew me to the game.

Here’s the short and sweet version of everything that was announced at the Summer Games Fest. Maybe you’re not exactly like me and you’ll have other favourites, and if that favourite is Party Animals, feel free to slide into my DMs.
