I don’t know what it is about streaming and fighting, but somehow they always land up together. Logan Paul, Leonhart, and KSI, all landed themselves up in a few boxing matches, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out why it was boxing. If it were up to me, I would’ve picked wrestling first.
Speaking of, WWE has just partnered with Twitch for a multi-year contract. The contract brings back the WWE channel, which will serve as another feed for viewers to watch WWE’s live-streamed content and press events.
The (re)kick-off of the Twitch channel also comes with a new Monday night show called WWE Sidecast. WWE claims that the show will provide “access to behind the scenes and [get viewers] closer to the in-ring action.”cAs for what this means exactly, we don’t really know. Besides all the press-release hubbub they’ve only told us that Twitch will be an alternate source to get WWE content. This means it could just be the exact same thing you see on your regular TV; at least Twitch provides a bit of an easier-to-access platform from either your phone or PC and you can catch up on previous live streams from there as well. The show will stream every Monday at 8 PM ET, or for us that don’t live in America, that’s a lovely and fresh 2 AM on Tuesday morning.
Back in 2020 WWE cracked down hard on Superstars that tried to stream on platforms such as Twitch, however, since earlier this year, the WWE suits have eased up on the Superstars that want to stream and we can’t help but wonder if it’s because of this multi-year deal that was in the works.
Are you a WWE fan? Will you be catching up with all the WWE content on their Twitch feed? Let us know in the comments.
