I’ve said it a million times before; I love customisation in games, and I am definitely not the only one.
Street Fighter 6 has a pretty detailed character creation screen, meaning you can create an almost duplicate of yourself in-game to fight on the streets of Metro City. However, not everyone is creating spitting images of themselves. Players are getting creative and designing doppelgängers of their favourite real and fictional celebrities.
A subreddit, SF6Avatars, is a place where people can post their works, along with a code that other players can use to copy the character and use them in their own game. Even better, the avatar hub is an online place to “hang out” and show off your character, so you’ll be rubbing shoulders and playing footsie with some of the most famous people in the world before picking a fight with them.
While some creations require you to squint a little to see who they really are, others are done exceptionally well, and you can instantly tell who it is. My favourites include 2D from Gorillaz, Kratos, Tyrion Lannister, Trunks, Luffy and Cloud and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy.
Street Fighter 6 also has a feature where your character’s build actually affects how they fight. Longer arms mean a greater reach, shorter bodies mean harder to hit, you get it. I’d love to see some of these creations take each other on, especially the more creative ones.
