It’s always a good day when games get released across various platforms and storefronts, opening their doors to anyone who would like to play them. Today’s game in question is Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, a game I had this to say about when it first launched:
At the end of the day, I can’t recommend anyone spend their hard-earned gold coins buying and playing Swansong. In fact, I feel so strongly about it that I can’t even recommend the game if it is available for free. I played the game on my PlayStation 5, and the character models were some of the worst I’ve seen. No conversation could be had without the character’s eyes floating around in their eye sockets and hair poking through the characters’ arms and necks. And even if you manage to look past all of these shortcomings, you’re still left with an anticlimactic story that’s over before it even really feels like it’s begun.
After a period of Epic Games Store exclusivity, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is now available on Steam, and I couldn’t feel more sorry for the platform.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong was a game released to… questionable reviews in May 2022, with many reviewers calling the game inaccessible, calling it out for its many technical issues and a lacklustre narrative.
Despite this, the game would be patched and fixed, and gradually a handful of DLCs would be released. After a year-long exclusivity deal with Epic Games Store, the game is finally on Steam.
To celebrate the game coming to a broader audience, it’s been put on a 40% discount, and gamers can pick up the game whose review I titled “Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong SUCKS And Not In A Good Vampy Way” for only R249.
Suppose my words of warning aren’t enough to scare you away from the game for good. In that case, you can find it on Steam by following the link here, and if you want to recap my full review before deciding, you can click here.
