As an avid hater, I mean lover of League of Legends and Pokemon, it’s only natural that I would delve into Pokemon Unite. Although I’m no pro, I do find myself hopping onto the game every now and again on my Switch when Load Shedding decides I need to move from the chair in my office to my couch.
Some recent news that’ll get me hopping back on for a couple more games is the announcement of the release date for two new Eeveelutions. Umbreon and Leafeon. Umbreon is breaking free from their Pokeball on the 25th of May while Leafeon needs a little bit more of a nap and will be hitting the battlefield on the 8th of June.
Umbreon will be the first Eeveelution that takes on more of a defensive role than the previous releases and with the ability list that it has, it seems to be a Pokemon that will be built to stay on top of enemies while tanking a bit of damage.

Abilities:
Inner Focus (Passive): Umbreon’s passive is Inner Focus. This gives them the ability to ignore shoving, throwing and stuns and for a brief moment afterwards gain increased defence and Sp. defence.
Mean Look: Umbreon stares down an enemy causing them to be pinned down and surrounded by a dark zone. Attacks made by Umbreon in this zone have increased damage.
Snarl: A damage over time ability where Umbreon lets out a wave of growls. The growls deal damage, lower defences and movement speed and the final growl renders the enemy unable to act.
Foul Play: Umbreon dashes forward and their next basic attack is boosted.
Unite Ability – Moonlight Prance: Umbreon leaps into the air and absorbs the shields of all enemies around them and uses it for themselves. Upon landing Umbreon deals damage in an area. Umbreon is also able to heal HP when out of combat.
