Razer Shows Off Nommo V2 – A Line Of Modular Gaming Speakers

There is nothing quite like starting a casual Friday morning with another reason why your bank account never seems to get far above empty added to the list. If it’s not a new, costly game release, a gaming convention you want to attend, or a board game that caught your eye, then it’s tech, and Razer has some promising new tech.

Razer, the hugely popular gaming peripheral brand, has just unveiled the Nommo V2 Pro, which consists of a full-range speaker and wireless subwoofer combo. Nommo is a range of gaming speakers with various price points and features.

The idea is that everything is upgradeable at the low end, letting gamers build up towards bigger and better sound systems as money allows.

The Razer Nommo V2 Pro bundle included two speakers, each supporting 3-inch full-range drivers with aluminium phase plugs for natural and clear acoustics and a wireless down-firing sub. And because this is Razer we’re talking about, each speaker also features rear-projection RGB lighting.

If Razer is to be believed, this is the first PC gaming speaker system with a wireless down-firing sub and is the first desktop speaker system to support THX Spatial Audio.

The wireless control pod with the system lets users adjust volume, pause/play music, and easily change the equaliser settings. The pod can run for up to eight months without being charged.

There is also a version of the Razer Nommo V2 that comes with a wired sub instead of a wireless version. The Nommo V2 X is a complete 2.0 system for gamers on a budget which doesn’t include the wireless control pod.

All three of these bundles will be available directly on Razer’s online site in June, and they are all compatible with PC, consoles and mobile devices.

We aren’t sure when these speakers will be available in South Africa, but we’re itching to get our hands on them when they are.
