Mirthwood Is Like If Stardew Valley Was A Medieval Fantasy

Mirthwood, If Stardew Valley Was A Medieval Fantasy

There is a new Stardew Valley-inspired life sim RPG on the horizon called Mirthwood, and from what we’ve seen so far, it might just be the next game to scratch that never-ending farm-sim itch. At its core, Mirthwood is an RPG life sim that puts players in the shoes of a farmer during medieval times.

The game looks like a mixture of farming, exploration and combat set within a fantasy world and allows players to build up their farm and manage it while harvesting crops and caring for many animals.

However, the big twist comes with the game’s story and medieval setting. Players find themselves playing as a refugee from a land torn by endless war and have gone on to start a new life somewhere else. While farming will play a massive part in the game, exploration and combat will be just as vital, offering players up to six vastly different regions to explore.

The game will also allow for more organic storylines, making everything part of a seemingly living world. This means that there will be a series of dynamic events which will unfold as players explore.

Players can also build relationships with NPCs through social interactions, much like the system worked in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion or Fable. The game is currently looking at a 2024 release and is set to be a Steam exclusive.

What do you think of Mirthwood? Will you be trying it out when it eventually releases? Let us know.
