Hardcore Realms Coming To World of Warcraft Classic

Exciting news for World of Warcraft players, Blizzard has announced that the official Hardcore realms will be coming to Classic sometime in the future. While Hardcore realms aren’t new to Classic, this will be the first time that players can play on serves with official dedicated support for this mode.

It was previously reported that World of Warcraft dataminers had uncovered evidence that Blizzard was working on bringing Hardcore realms to Classic and an entirely new client build that suggested something significant was set to arrive to the Classic serves.

Now, Blizzard has come out and officially announced that Hardcore realms are indeed on their way. During the Hardcore Allstars Classic WoW event stream, one of the World of Warcraft Classic developers announced the change, which will go live on the Public Test Realm soon.

No details were shared about how these Hardcore realms would work, but Blizzard touched on the features players can expect when these realms go public. For starters, when players die, they will still be able to log in to their characters, but they will be stuck as ghosts and be unable to revive.

Hardcore players will also be able to initiate notable duels to the death, allowing them to permanently kill other players who accept their challenge. It was also announced that Blizzard is working hard on a new World of Warcraft Classic season.

If you’ll excuse me, I have duel challenges to issue to my greatest foes… sorry, friends.
