Something new may be coming to Fortnite if a particular leak is to be believed. Fans of both Fortnite and car racing may have reason to be getting excited as it seems like a significant new game mode will be arriving in the game soon. That mode will likely include some cars and some racing.
According to not one, not two but multiple Fortnite dataminers, there are files hidden within Fortnite that indicate a new racing game mode, currently codenamed “DelMar”, is being developed and should be ready to debut within the next few months.
From what we know, should we choose to believe these dataminers, this will be a significantly sized game mode that will come complete with a customisation garage accessible from the main game lobby, which will hold several alternative vehicle styles and model options for players to choose from.
The files also indicate that the game mode will have several options, such as a Death Race, several circuits, and even competitive games. Much like the battle royale Arena game mode, there will also be various divisions and rankings.
Not much more is known about this rumoured new car racing mode. Still, if Epic Games is already focusing on hypothetical tournaments for a game mode that’s not even out yet, they must have some faith in the success of this mode.
