Apex Pro Gets to Predator Rank Without Dealing Damage

Just the other day Apex Legends launched into it’s latest season, Season 17: Aresnal, and along with the new season EA brought some major updates to how the ranked system works.

In an attempt to show the devs at EA that the new update to climbing the ranks is just not it, pro Apex player “sweetdreams” challenged himself to see if he could make it all the way to the top rank tier without dealing a single drop of damage. One of the biggest changes that EA made to the ranked system was changing the cost of entry from a scaling number, depending on your rank, to a flat 35. Then, if you were to ensure you made the top 10 teams in game, you were guaranteed to hit positive points at the end of the game, meaning you would climb the ladder.

In a 19 hour continuous stream “sweetdreams” used this to his advantage to show that by hanging out outside the safe zone, healing himself up and not even picking up a weapon, he was able to depend on his two teammates to get their team up into the top 10 teams, at least, and earn mega points.

“sweetdreams” has obviously been playing the game for quite some time, as you can see he understand how all the mechanics in Apex work. He completely understands how the change in the ranked system can be used to benefit him and using his skill, he does so. Personally, I don’t feel like any old joe could achieve what he has achieved, but other Predator levels players will have definitely seen this and will probably be playing a passive game or two to get an “easy” boost in points.

Any Apex players out there think that EA need to re-work the ranked system, again? Let us know in the comments.
