While I’m personally excited for the launch of Starfield this year, I’m also sure I’m not the only one. So we all jump at any bits of any information we can get our space mittens on before the game’s release.
The ESRB just recently released its rating for Starfield and it gives us a little glimpse into the world we may experience while playing the game.
Rated M for Mature, the ESRB tells us to prepare for “Blood, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Drugs and Violence”. While the blood and combat is described as “Players [will] use futuristic guns, lasers, axes, and explosives to kill enemies. [The] combat is fast-paced, with frequent gunfire, cries of pain, and explosions [and] Attacks on some enemies can result in blood-splatter effects; several environments depict blood stains on the ground around corpses.” – scary – the “suggestive themes” are a little more relaxed.
The ESRB says that during dialogue and after “sharing a bed with characters”, we can expect a few spicy lines such as “Talk about seeing stars, whew… that was amazing.” and “I’m all for getting a little wild, but next time let’s try it without the jetpacks.” I see you out there, waving the heat from beneath your collar as you picture jetpack whoopee.
Along with all this blood, birds and bees, Starfield will also offer “Aurora”, a fictional in-game drug that players can purchase (or steal) and use. The game will also feature a chapter where the player is actually involved in making the drug itself.
While this doesn’t reveal too much about the game, I’m excited to see the freedom that we’ll be allowed to experience in true RPG fashion. Let’s hope the Starfield Direct in June is just as saucy.
Now, how much do you think a pair of jetpacks cost?
