I’m not going to pretend we didn’t see this coming. With the developers of Dark and Darker still in the midst of their own real-life battle with Nexon, they were no doubt going to fall behind with their actual jobs; developing.
In an announcement posted on their Discord, the CEO of Ironmace, Terence, gave the community the sad news. ” I know this isn’t the announcement everyone wanted to hear, but we needed to let our fans know that the Early Access release has been delayed a bit,” he said. Initially, the game was set for an early access launch around the end of April/beginning of May and with the beginning of May coming to an end, the Ironmace team decided to let their community know how it was going.
Terence also hinted that things are happening in the ongoing court case that is not allowing the devs at Ironmace to let us know what is happening back at the studio. “We truly hate not being able to communicate as freely as we usually do; however, due to the sensitive nature of our current situation, we can’t divulge too much information right now.”. I hope this bodes well for them. If they have to keep a few things under wraps for the time being, it could insinuate they’re hiding something, or it could just mean they’ve lawyered up hard and are being forced to tread lightly until this whole thing gets finalised.
Either way, it means we’ll have to wait just that little bit longer for a public release. As the team has asked, we’ll hold the line just a little longer.
