Can you imagine a time in history when games were released and did not require weeks of patches, updates and bug fixes to render them playable? Well, an entire generation of gamers don’t, and that’s honestly unacceptable.
But I digress. EA detailed this morning the many changes coming to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in its fourth patch as the developers scramble to try and fix a game that had no business being broken to begin with.
Don’t get me wrong; Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is good. It’s really good. But it also suffers from more issues than I do – and that’s saying something, with the vast majority of these issues being PC related. Go figure.
To rattle off a few of the most common issues: Crashes. The low frame rate on high-end machines. Poor optimisation. Glitches. Some more crashes.
Since the game was released, EA has been pumping out updates to rectify these issues; hopefully, patch four will see some of these resolved. The patch will be live today for PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but PC players will have to wait until… sometime this week for it to arrive.
From what’s been announced by EA, the patch will try to fix a game-breaking bug which prevents players from completing the story across the various platforms. Still, for the most part, the PC issues will be the primary focus in a desperate attempt by EA to lose the worst PC port of 2023 award for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Here are some of the more significant fixes players can look forward to:
- Fixed various save state errors.
- Fixed a streaming issue that causes some streaming scenarios to end on a black screen.
- Fixed an issue where one of the vents did not properly activate in Stone Spires.
- Fixed lightsaber marks not displaying correctly in some scenarios.
- Fixed a scenario where the player could enter a progression-blocked state in the Lucrehulk.
- Fixed an elevator to prevent the player from falling through it and entering a progression-blocked state.
- Fixed a bug where Rayvis would become unbeatable.
- Fixed a severe animation issue that would break a late-game narrative sequence.
- Fixed a collision bug where players can get stuck inside a Meditation Chamber.
- Various crash fixes.
